Lincoln is one of America’s oldest car manufacturers. Lincoln is well known for producing luxury, high quality model cars. Henry Leland with his son Wilfred formed Lincoln Motors in 1917. The company is named after President Abraham Lincoln, who portrays him as one of his hero. Henry Leland had a great idea in the design of best engine parts and was a machinist, inventor and engineer in his profession. He later decided to build his own automobile company.
Lincoln is engaged in the production of variants like sedan, crossover and SUV and is said to be close competitor to Cadillac. Lincoln Continental was one of Lincoln's mass successes booming into Lincoln's promotion in worldwide market. Merging with Ford Motor Company
During the time of 1922, Lincoln faced problem with recession and bankruptcy which nearly led to the downfall. Henry Ford bought Lincoln for the cost of $8 million, and was keen interested in designing luxury vehicles.As a result, Ford has created models to compete equitably with brands such as Pierce-Arrow, Peerless, Marmon, Duesenberg, Packard and Cadillac. Edsel Ford (Henry Ford's son) took over the management of the company and began producing Model L cars in the new body types, resulting in 45% gain by the end of 1923.

Model L was the first Lincoln model to be produced. After Ford acquired Lincoln brand, it had released 4 different L model variant from 1922 to 1930 which are mainly 1922 Model L - Touring sedan, 1925 Model L - Sedan, 1926 Model L - Town car and 1930 Model L - Sedan.
After the withdrawal of ‘Model L’ in 1930, ‘Model K’ was introduced in 1931 to become a rival to Chrysler Imperial and Cadillac 355. These models began with the multi-cylinder V12 engine, Lincoln was the first company to produce multi-cylinder engines in the United States. The public endorsed the Lincoln model because of its high quality, look and efficiency. Later on, Lincoln Zephyr had been introduced by Edsel Ford in 1936 which began the Lincoln automobiles Journey of Success.

Continental is like one of those cars of prestige cars, it is said as a special luxury sedan which was introduced into market in late 1930’s. After the taken over of ownership by Ford Motor Company, Edsel Ford indulged himself in bringing up this sub-marque brand in the International market.
